Hi, I'm Dave DeWitt, and today I'd like to comment on the theology of the Palestinian-Israeli
0:10
war, which began in October 7, 2023.
0:14
First of all, this war is not a biblical-in-times prophetic event.
0:20
The war in Israel, which began in October 7, 2023, is not what Jesus predicted in Matthew
0:26
24 when he said, you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars, nor is it what is referred
0:32
to as the beginning of birth pangs in verse 8.
0:36
Jesus' comments in Matthew 24 are about his second coming.
0:41
There is no observable connection between this war and prophetic-in-times sequence of
0:48
events in the Bible.
0:51
There's a clear-in-times sequence of events described in Daniel 2, 7, and 9, in Matthew
0:57
24 and 25, and in the book of Revelation.
1:01
Each adds some detail, but all describe the same sequence.
1:06
This Palestinian-Israeli war is not that sequence.
1:12
There's also nothing in our current situation that would indicate this war is part of in-times
1:19
prophecy.
1:22
For example, there's no global government, no global religion, no global economy where
1:27
we purchase things with the mark of the beast.
1:30
There's no global antichrist leader, and we're not seeing the global judgments of God upon
1:37
the earth yet.
1:40
We can see that we're moving toward those things, but we're not there yet.
1:46
We do not need to force-fit things into what the Bible says, but the Bible says will unfold
1:53
just the way the Bible says it will, by the hand of God.
1:58
Could this war lead to war with Iran, which could lead to war with Russia, which could
2:03
lead to war described in Ezekiel 38 and 39?
2:07
Of course, we don't know what will lead to what, but if it sounds like this war involves
2:14
the same places as Ezekiel war, remember that basically all the wars of Israel since 1948
2:23
involve similar places.
2:25
Next, I'd like to ask the question, why are the Jews such a hated people?
2:32
Why is there even such a thing as anti-Semitism?
2:35
I suggest the Jews are hated because they're the people through God gave us the Bible.
2:41
They're seen as the people of the Bible.
2:45
Here's an interesting thing.
2:47
There are liberal progressives all over the world who support the Palestinians and oppose Israel.
2:54
Why do we see gatherings like liberal campus groups demonstrating in support of the Palestinians,
3:01
even in support of Hamas?
3:04
The answer, the liberals give, is along the lines of Palestinians are being oppressed
3:12
by the Jews.
3:13
In other words, they transport their woke theory into the Israeli-Hamas conflict.
3:19
Now, that's spread over into the Muslim groups like Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis
3:27
in Yemen.
3:29
But there is another very puzzling question in this whole debate.
3:34
Why do liberal progressives all over the world oppose Israel?
3:38
Who are the liberal progressives?
3:41
I know of no other example where liberal progressives are dramatically opposing other liberal progressives.
3:48
For example, in America, there are four liberal Democrat women in Congress who call themselves
3:55
the Squad.
3:57
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a representative from New York, is usually the main speaker
4:04
of the Squad, and she's not a Palestinian or a Muslim.
4:09
The liberal progressive political view of the Squad align with most liberal progressive
4:15
Jews in New York, whose views are nearly identical with the liberal progressives in Israel.
4:23
This is true of the liberal progressives demonstrating against Israel all over the world.
4:31
Their views align with most of the Jews in both America and Israel, pro-homosexual, pro-abortion,
4:39
pro-feminism.
4:40
For example, some say Tel Aviv is the homosexual capital of the world.
4:47
Also Israel is among the first to put women in the military, resulting in a high rate
4:51
of pregnancy, with abortion available if they wish to continue on as soldiers.
5:00
The Palestinians, and all the Muslim terrorist groups, on the other hand, are extremely opposed
5:07
to all of those things.
5:09
For example, in some cases, Palestinian Muslims, and certainly those under the leadership of
5:15
Hamas or Hezbollah, do not allow women to go out in public without being covered and
5:22
accompanied by a man.
5:24
They do not allow a woman to drive a car or receive higher education.
5:29
So why are the S.Q.U.A.D. and the liberal campus groups all over the world supporting
5:33
the Palestinians and opposing Israel, the nation who aligns with their liberal beliefs?
5:40
The young women demonstrating for Palestinians on college campuses would be imprisoned or
5:46
killed if they went to Palestinian territories controlled by Hamas or Hezbollah.
5:52
They go out in public without having their head covered, and they're not accompanied
5:57
by a man.
5:58
They're driving cars, they're pursuing higher education, supporting abortion, LGBTQ rights,
6:05
and feminism.
6:06
They would be immediately eliminated in the Palestinian territories controlled by Hamas
6:12
they're demonstrating for.
6:14
I want to say it again, I know of no other example of liberal progressives demonstrating
6:21
against liberal progressives who believe the same as they do in supporting the group that
6:27
would violently eliminate them.
6:31
The only place these liberal progressive women would be safe in the Middle East is in Israel.
6:39
The answer is clear.
6:41
The war, carried by TV stations, YouTubes, and other social media, will not admit, or
6:48
do they understand, the obvious.
6:51
This is a war against the Bible.
6:54
This is about the Koran opposing the Bible.
6:57
The very liberals hate Israel because they are the people who gave us the Bible.
7:05
And their very existence in the land of Israel validates the truth of the Bible.
7:12
The land itself is a testimony to the accuracy of the Bible.
7:17
It seems that the liberal progressives of our world hate the Bible so much they're willing
7:23
to overlook all their views to support those who oppose the Bible.
7:29
Although the Jews often refer to the Bible as their claim to the land, most people involved
7:36
in this war don't think about the Bible.
7:39
Many civilians have no idea at all about the philosophical or theological, or theology
7:46
behind the war.
7:48
But some do, the Hamas leaders yelling Allah Akbar do, and Satan does.
7:54
Paul reminded us, for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
8:00
against powers, against world forces of darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness
8:05
in the heavenly places.
8:08
In 2 Corinthians 4, he said, in whose case the God of this world has blinded the minds
8:13
of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel, of the glory
8:18
of Christ, who is in the image of God.
8:21
There's only one answer that makes any sense, and that answer always makes sense when understanding
8:28
the liberal progressive agenda.
8:31
There is only one thing liberal progressives and Palestinian jihadists have in common.
8:38
They hate the Bible.
8:40
And that hatred dominates everything else.
8:44
That hatred is coming from Satan.
8:48
Next I want to say we should support Israel as a nation because they are God's chosen
8:53
people, not because they're good people or better people.
8:58
There are four reasons we should support the Jews in their possession of the land.
9:03
1.
9:04
God gave the land to Abraham, not to the Canaanites, Isaac not to Ishmael, Jacob not Esau.
9:12
The first people who immigrated into the land, as far as we know, were the Canaanites, who
9:18
were the descendants of Canaan, the cursed grandson of Noah from Genesis 9.25.
9:25
But God called Abraham out of all the people of the earth after the scattering of the Tower
9:31
of Babel and led him into Canaan, saying he'd give him the land.
9:37
2.
9:38
The second reason we should support Israel is God promised Abraham he would multiply
9:43
his descendants.
9:45
Abraham believed God in Genesis 15.6 and proved it by being willing to sacrifice his son Isaac.
9:55
God stopped him and provided his own sacrifice.
9:59
But then God said, by myself I have sworn to declare as the Lord, because you have done
10:03
this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son, indeed, I will greatly bless
10:10
you and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sands
10:15
which are in the seashore, and your seed shall possess the gates of their enemies.
10:21
In your seed all the nations of the earth will be blessed because you have obeyed my
10:26
voice.
10:27
3.
10:28
Third, God selected this place for his people as a land for which the Lord your God cares
10:36
according to Deuteronomy 11.12.
10:39
After 430 years in Egypt, God led the Israelites, by a stent in the wilderness for their disobedience,
10:47
into what Moses called the place in which the Lord your God will choose for his name
10:53
to dwell.
10:55
4.
10:57
God has plans for Israel that include their future in the land.
11:01
Through Jeremiah, God told Israel, Jeremiah 29.11 and 14.
11:08
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity,
11:14
to give you a future and a hope, I will restore your fortune and I will regather you from
11:20
all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and
11:26
I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.
11:32
We must understand that the Jews are not individually saved by being Jewish, or that individual
11:40
Jews are better than individual Gentiles, or that Jews treat Palestinians well.
11:46
We only need to understand that God has a future plan for Israel as a nation, and it's
11:52
a good idea to remember that God told Abraham, I'll bless those who bless you, and the
11:58
ones who curse you I'll curse.
12:02
Next we need to understand that the Jews involved in this war are not the Jews involved at the
12:07
second coming.
12:08
Since there's been a dispersion of the Jews by the Romans in AD 70 and finally in 132,
12:17
and a regathering of Israel as a nation in 1948, many preachers are saying these Jews
12:24
are that regathering.
12:27
This is often done referring to Jesus' statement in Matthew 24, 34, this generation will not
12:34
pass away until all these things take place.
12:38
I suspect Jesus' words, this generation, are referring to the human race, or possibly
12:44
the Jews alive during the tribulation before the second coming, which would be the immediate
12:49
context.
12:50
But the Jews who returned and formed a nation in 1948 are not the return of the remnant
12:58
of the Jews involved at the second coming.
13:01
We know this because the Jews involved at the second coming are not atheists, secularists,
13:07
or progressives.
13:08
Unlike today's Jews, those who return when Christ returns are repentant of their sin.
13:16
They're believers in Jesus Christ as their Messiah.
13:19
Through Zechariah, God said, I'll pour out on the house of David and on his inhabitants
13:25
of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and supplication, so that they'll look on me who they have perished
13:32
and they'll mourn for him, for as one mourns for an only son, and they'll weep bitterly
13:38
over him, like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.
13:44
Jesus said that at his second coming he'll send forth his angels with a great trumpet
13:51
and they'll gather together his elect from the four winds from one end of the sky to
13:56
the other.
13:59
We can conclude that the war of October 7 is not an end times event.
14:07
In conclusion, it's important to understand that the war which began on October 7, 2023,
14:16
I'd like to say what it is and what it is not.
14:20
It's not about Jews being better people or having a more just cause for the war.
14:27
We should support the Jews because they're genealogically chosen people of God.
14:32
There are many practical reasons for this, including territorial disputes and long-term
14:38
hatred, but this is all the consequences of one basic issue.
14:46
It was declared loud and clear by the killers and kidnappers yelling, Allah Akbar.
14:52
This is a war against the God of the Bible.
14:55
A basic question here is, why do liberal progressives support Islamists, who are dramatically opposed
15:03
to nearly everything the liberal progressives teach?
15:06
Answer, Jesus said, you're seeking to kill me, the man who told you the truth.
15:13
What the world hates is the truth of the word of God.
15:17
What the Muslims have in common with the rest of the world is they hate the Bible.
15:22
In the end, like all of Satan's battles, it's all about the Bible.
15:28
Thank you for listening.
